PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR

PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR (full-time, permanent position)

​

Responsible for the delivery of services to girls enrolled at Miami Dade County Public School’s
(MDCPS) Alternative to Outdoor Suspension (AOS) Program at Parkway Student Success
Center, operated by Girl Power Rocks, Inc.. Reporting directly to the Director of Programs,
Program Instructor will ensure that all classroom goals, objectives and outcomes are
accomplished while providing quality programming to all participants.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete Girl Power intake forms and collection of required student data for the
    Alternative to Outdoor Suspension Program (Through a virtual platform when needed).

  • Create lesson plans and implement activities and interventions in accordance with
    evidence/research-based program curriculums provided by the agency (Through a virtual
    platform when needed).

  • Plan and implement individual and group mentoring sessions to review details of

  • Infractions (Through a virtual platform when needed).

  • Provide homework assistance and academic support (Through a virtual platform when
    needed).

  • Responsible for meeting all classroom goals, objectives and outcomes as outlined in the
    Scope of Services, while providing quality programming to all clients. (Through a virtual
    platform when needed)

  • Responsible for accurately and timely recording required student data, attendance and
    demographics in the data systems.

  • Attend weekly staff meetings as required (in-person, virtually or conference call).

  • Provide documentation of client case notes and exit interviews at completion of program.

  • Co-Facilitate Monthly Parent Opportunity Council Meetings.

  • Ensure that all student paperwork is properly secured and filed.

  • Attend internal and external meetings as required, including but not limited to the End of

  • Year showcase, Holiday Celebrations and provide support during field trips as needed.

  • Attend all mandatory professional development and compliance trainings throughout the
    year. Training schedules will be provided at time of hiring.

  • Prepare and complete all monthly, quarterly and/or annual reports as required for Miami
    Dade County Public Schools and other funders as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field and/or a minimum of 3 years’ experience
    in a similar position.

  • Familiar with non-profit organization operations.

  • Passion for working with at-promise girls and building communities in Miami-Dade
    County.

  • Strong social, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Works well independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to consistent, reliable transportation.

Working Hours: Monday through Thursday 8 am to 2 pm. Friday 9 am to 3:30 pm/30 hours per week
Some evenings and weekends are required.
