The Girls Intervention Program PLUS (GIPP) is one of Girl Power Rocks’ most powerful programs, supporting “at-promise” girls who are navigating academic, behavioral, and life challenges.

We’re proud to celebrate the completion of our JCS Vaping Intervention Program at GIPP South, where our girls deepened their understanding of vaping use and its real-life effects. Through open dialogue and guided learning, they built essential coping skills to manage stress and triggers, strengthened healthy decision-making, and set personal goals rooted in self-respect and long-term wellness.

Our Girl Power girls stepped into a world of stories, ideas, and possibility at the Miami Dade Book Fair, one of the city’s largest celebrations of literacy, culture, and learning.

For many of our girls, this experience was more than a field trip. It was exposure. It was access. It was a reminder that their voices, stories, and dreams belong in every space, including the pages of books and the future they are writing for themselves.

📖 Research shows that children with access to books and reading-rich experiences are more likely to develop strong literacy skills, higher academic confidence, and long-term success. Experiences like this help close opportunity gaps by sparking curiosity, imagination, and a love of learning.

From meeting authors to exploring new genres and proudly carrying home books of their own, our girls walked away inspired and empowered.

On Saturday, October 18th, our girls enjoyed a fun and inspiring field trip to the Pretty Empowered Event at the Carrie P. Meek Education Entrepreneurial Center, hosted by YWCA South Florida and Ulta Beauty. 💕

The day was filled with empowering moments, from listening to incredible speakers and engaging in STEAM-based activities to exploring pathways to future STEM careers. 🚀

We had the honor of welcoming Samirah Horton, a 16-year-old motivational speaker, author, DJ, and founder of the Banned Book Library. Samirah, also known as DJ Annie Red, reached out to us with a passion for giving back, and gifted our girls an inspiring in-kind anti-bullying session. ✨
