Sister Circle Mentoring Program

Become a Mentor, Change a Life

The Girl Power Sister Circle Mentoring Program pairs qualified role models with at-promise girls in Miami. Female mentors play an important role in girls’ lives, helping to shape their decisions and self-image. Mentors and mentees are paired based on similarities, such as common interests and hobbies. The Sister Circle Mentoring Program is a one-year commitment for four hours a month. Volunteer to mentor a young girl and change her life.

Sister Circle mentors provide young girls with advice, counseling, support and a constructive example for mentees in a variety of areas, including:

Mentorship Program Commitment

Sister Circle mentors commit to meeting with their mentees for 4 hours a month, over the course of 1 year.

Examples of Sister Circle Mentorship Activities

Sister Circle mentors are encouraged to be creative with the activities that they choose with their mentees. Some examples of past Sister Circle activities include:

  • Book store

  • Movies

  • Ice cream

  • Eateries

  • Chocolate factory tour

  • Artistic activities

    • Museums

    • Ceramics lesson

    • Painting lesson

    • Exhibits

Mentor Screening Procedure

  • Must be 21+

  • Complete a written application

  • Attend a 2-hour training

  • Complete an interview

  • Provide personal references

  • Criminal history check + fingerprints

  • Driving record check + copy of current insurance coverage
